OLYMPIC ENGLISH is an academic competition organized by the Faculty of Foreign Languages for students at Ho Chi Minh University of Banking (HUB). Following the success of 2023, Olympic English 2024 officially returned with an aim of seeking new talents with in-depth knowledge in different areas including finance, accounting, technology, music, social culture, environment, sports, and history.
Themed “Mystic Depths”, the contest was a fascinating journey where contestants played the role of hunters searching for these mystical treasures located beneath the deep ocean. When embarking on this journey, the Mystic Depth hunters had to exhibit outstanding performances to get through three rounds of the contest. With topics covering a wide range of subject areas, Olympic English 2024 offered students an ideal chance to apply their English knowledge and skills in conquering the adventure and upgrading themselves to a higher level.
The Qualifying Round took place from February 26th, 2024 to Mar 14th, 2024, involving the participation of around 2000 students. The 40 best performers advanced to the Semi-final Round which was held from Mar 16th to Mar 3rd, 2024. As a result, 5 students with the most outstanding performances entered the Final Round.
The Gala Night of the English Olympic 2024 was held on April 4, 2024, at the Main Auditorium of HUB, featuring several exciting rounds and performances. The contestants delivered impressive performances in the presence of representatives from the Board of Directors, lecturers of the Faculty of Foreign Language, representatives of the diamond sponsor – TITAN English Center, representatives of the gold sponsor - ZIM Academy, representatives of organizations, and around 850 students.
Besides exciting performances featuring sound, visuals, lighting, and the stage, the audiences also beheld the professionalism of Board of Judges who posed interesting questions, and provided meaningful feedback. Valuable comments from the three judges, Dr. Le Thi Thuy Nhung, Ms. Dinh Thi Thuy Nhung and Mr Tran Duc Minh, contributed to the success of the Gala Night.
In addition, the success of the event was attributed to the concerted attempt, the complete dedication, and the ultimate responsibility of the Organizers and the enthusiastic support from sponsors, ZIM Academy - Gold Sponsor, and TITAN English Center - Diamond Sponsor.
After four hours of intense work, the contest came to a close with the final rankings of contestants as follows:

01 Third Prize: Huynh Tan Vu
02 Consolation prizes: Nguyen Thi Kim Nga and Nguyen Khanh Phuong
