Ho Chi Minh City, November 19, 2025 – The Faculty of Foreign Languages at the University of Banking Ho Chi Minh City (HUB) hosted an academic seminar titled “Innovation and Development of the English Language Studies Program” on Campus 56 Hoang Dieu 2, Thu Duc. The event aimed to review, evaluate, and set strategic directions for the advancement of English Language Learning Programs in the context of higher education reform and evolving demands of the labor market.
The seminar featured Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Trung – Rector of HUB, Dr. Le Thi Thuy Nhung – Acting Vice Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, along with other faculty leaders including Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Phuong Dung and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Hon Vu.
Special guests included Dr. Bui Thi Thuc Quyen – Head of the Division of General English, Faculty of Foreign Languages, Ho Chi Minh City Open University; Dr. Pham Nguyen Huy Hoang – Lecturer at the Faculty of English, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education; Dr. Do Thi Hoai Thu – Head of the Education Department, SEAMEO RETRAC; Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Nhu – Talent Acquisition Lead at Sieu Viet Group (Vieclam24h); Mr. Phu Chi Huy Khang – Talent Acquisition Lead at Vietnam Concentrix Services; Mr. Ngo Duc Huy – alumnus of Cohort 27; Ms. Dao Thi Thu Hien – Cohort 36, alongside lecturers and students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages.
In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Trung outlined the strategic direction for the English Language Studies across three academic levels: undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs. He also emphasized the importance of integrating digital technology and AI, as well as expanding practical learning experiences through laboratories, simulations, and digital learning environments.

To open the program, Dr. Le Thi Thuy Nhung presented an overview of HUB’s three English Language learning programs: English for Business, the Special English Program, and the English-Chinese Bilingual Program. She also stressed the distinct program outcomes and competency development pathways.

Educational experts from Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, and SEAMEO RETRAC provided professional insights into learning outcomes, curriculum design, digital competency development, alignment with industry needs, and the expression of HUB’s academic identity. Representatives from enterprises emphasized the growing demand for bilingual talent, practical experience, communication skills, and the alignment between academic training and real-world job requirements.

In her closing remarks, Dr. Le Thi Thuy Nhung expressed her sincere gratitude to all speakers and participants.
