Seminar “Enhancing the Quality of Internships of English Language Majors”

The seminar titled “Enhancing the Quality of  Internships for English Majors.” hosted by the Faculty of Foreign Languages (FFL) moderated by Dr. Lê Thị Thùy Nhung, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Foreign Languages welcomed the participation of FFL’s faculty members and about 300 students. The seminar was joined by 4 guest speakers coming from different industries.

The event began with the presentation on“Internship performance  of English Language Majors of FFL, HUB,” by  Dr. Lê Thị Thùy Nhung in which she presented the results of the project that explored the English majors’ experiences of their internnship. The second presentation delivered by Ms. Nguyễn Thị Hương Lan, National Sales Manager, Bosch Vietnam looked into career opportunities at Bosch Vietnam and provided practial advice for students looking for internship opportunities in different industries.

 

 

The other invited guest speakers including Ms. Văn Thị Hằng, Project Manager at Concentrix Vietnam, Mr. Nguyễn Nhị Hải, English Teacher at RES English Center, and Ms. Nguyễn Thanh Thúy, Sales Team Leader at SATO Vietnam, FFL’s alumni, shared their sucess stories and career paths. The alumni strongly advised students to be proactive during their study, accumulate work experiences and establish professional network to gain a competitive edge in the competitive job market. The speakers underscored the significance of self discipline, proactivity, and having clear goals during internships.

 

 

The panel discussion provided an opporunity for the student participants to engage in a dynamic and interactive conversation with the guest speakers. The seminar closed with the Q & A session. The students were expected to take home practical advice and invaluable insights to prepare for their future internships.
