Y-Nots FLD BUH won first prize at Efuture Translator Contest

Efuture Translator Contest is a translating contest which is held every two years by the English Linguistics Faculty, University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh city. It first took place in 2013. The Efuture Translator Contest 2019 has sparked the curiosity of many high school and university students in Ho Chi Minh City, including University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, Sai Gon University, University of Technology and Education, Hoa Sen University, Foreign Trade University – Ho Chi Minh campus, RMIT University, etc.

Team Y-Nots is made up of five people from the Foreign Language Faculty at the Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City: Le Quoc Tuan (K33 student) and Trinh Minh Chau (K33 student), Tran Thi Khanh Linh (K34 student), Nguyen Hoang Minh Nhu (K32 student) and Dang Thi Thanh Tien (K32 student). They excelled in the qualification round, semi-final, and are now one of four teams advancing to the 2019 final round (The four teams, in addition to Y-Nots, include 2 representatives from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and 1 representative from the Foreign Trade University).

The final round was held on 7/9/2019 at 1.30 p.m. in Hall D at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City. This round was divided into three parts: poetry translation, interpretation, and translated songs performance. With bravery, talent, and confidence, the Y-Nots team surpassed the other three teams to win this year's competition with an overall score of 251.3.

According to records, this is the second time a representative from the Faculty of Foreign Languages at the Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City has been declared champion. The BU Girls team of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City also took first place in the first competition in 2013.
